The Clinica Veterinaria Malpensa was founded in 1991 by the idea shared by Drs . Massimo Colosio , Giovanni Ghibaudo , Massimo Olivieri and Roberto Santilli to provide a structure with cutting edge means for the diagnosis and treatment of major diseases in companion animals .

Staff of the Clinica Veterinaria Malpensa is composed of over 50 people including administrative and veterinarians.

The structure is organized in 20 operational units directed by diplomates of European College or PhDs in veterinary clinical sciences . The various operating units are coordinated by the human resources and the executive secretariat to provide high quality services to animal welfare . To support the various activities are a laboratory, an intensive care unit with 25 beds and a team of medical emergency 24/7.

The Ospedale Veterinario I Portoni was born in 2007 by Dr. Daniel Terni who wanted to create a center of excellence capable of treating all diseases of pet animals.
The Hospital is proposed as reference center specialist, using a staff of about 60 veterinary doctor. Currently covers about 12 therapeutic areas among which the section of Neurology, Dr. Marco Bernardini, one of Interventional Pulmonology and ORL Dr. David de Lorenzi and that of Cardiology coordinated by Dr. Roberto Santilli.
Among the units to support this operation emerge Inpatient Unit with over 50 seats, the ICU with facilities and dedicated expertise and specific facilities offered by the Unit of Anesthesia structured with a team working 24/7. Since October 2014, Dr. Roberto Santilli has been appointed Cardiology Professor at Cornell University, USA, located in Ithaca, New York. This institution was founded on April 27, 1865 by Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White.

Cornell University is recognized internationally as a leader in public health, biomedical research and animal medicine training. About 211 physicians are employed in the faculty, 732 associates and 382 students follow the 4 year program, as well as 129 undergraduate and doctorate students. Within the faculty there is a veterinary hospital for animals receiving an average of 61,500 patients per year, of whom 41,000 are pets. The hospital provides a 24/7 service with specialists from every branch of veterinary medicine. DR.
